Homework 2, By Syed Faiz Ali

Hydrogen Embrittlement: It is a phenomenon which states that in high tensile metals, usually, the hydrogen atoms diffuse and impacts the metal on a micro scale which results in reduced ductility and strength of the material.
Medical 3D Printing: Medical 3D printing refers to the introduction of additive manufacturing practices in the medical field. In recent years the medical 3D printing has become a hot topic. The Rokit 3D (a 3D printer manufactures) have recently announced the Bio-material 3D printer. A lot of research is being done on printing the cells with bio-ink. In essence, the prime asset of interest in this Bio-mechanical field is to enhance capabilities to print body parts for implants and other parts that can be used in the body such as during surgeries.
Mechanical Efficiency: This sub-field in mechanical engineering is related to counter the in-efficiencies in mechanical systems. The mechanical-efficiency division has a role in almost all fields in the mechanical department such as Thermodynamics. The basic idea is about how to improve the efficiency of the mechanical system either by reducing the extra losses or by manipulating other factors such as design.
Cybernetics: It is the concept in mechanical engineering which deals with the communication in machines and in automatic control systems. The main idea about is that the control system or a machine observes the right protocols in communications. The cybernetics device, for example, used in drones is Ardu Pilot.
Hoberman Mechanism: This is a mechanism which deals with the initiation and observation of circulatory code of geometry. The mechanism in its ground state allows one degree of freedom which means that a previous segment can have a freedom of 1 degree to the next segment.
Hotchkiss Drive: It is the concept, now from the past, which dealt with the power transmission shaft in cars powered by the front engine and had rare wheel drive.
Biomechatronics: It is an inter-amalgam discipline which primarily constitutes of mechanics, Bio-medical, and electronics disciplines. The main underlining principle of this field is to provide the enhancement and help to medical surgeons while the medical surgery. In certain scenarios and cases, it also replaces the human involvement with mechatronic pieces of equipment.
Accelerated Life Testing: It is a mechanism in which the product is made to undergo different tests at an excessive tolerance range in order to identify the potential mode of failure in a short time.
Acquoistic Droplet Ejection: This technology basically deals with the ejection of very small droplets, sizing as less as picoliter, without introducing physical interaction. The technology uses ultrasound pulse in order to eject the droplet by focusing the acoustic energy on the fluid.
Computational Fluid Dynamics: It is a subbranch of fluid mechanics that deals with the numerical analysis and data structuring in order to model the fluid flow and its interactions defined by the boundary conditions.
